Eden’s Hidden Rock Pool (and Yep, It’s Dog-Friendly-ish)
We stumbled across this little gem on a road trip through the Sapphire Coast — a natural rock pool tucked into the cliffs at the end of Aslings Beach in Eden, NSW. It’s not super well-known, which makes it feel all the more special. Quiet, raw, and a little bit magic when the tide’s low.

You’ll find it right at the southern end of the beach — follow the shoreline, clamber over a few rocks, and suddenly you’re there: turquoise water, craggy cliffs, and if you’re lucky, a sea star or two hanging out in the shallows.

But what about dogs?
So the rock pool itself isn’t technically dog-friendly, but its doesnt say no dog on the sign and we have never been told to leave and the beach it’s on is. Aslings Beach has an off-leash zone that runs from the Curalo Lagoon entrance all the way down to the skate park. Just avoid the flagged swim area (they ask you to stay 100m clear).

Alma had an absolute blast — full zoomies mode on that long stretch of sand.

Getting there + what to know
You can park for free near the southern end of the beach

No signs or fences — just follow the sand until the rocks start, then scramble a little

Best to go at low tide (it’s calmer and easier to spot marine life)

There’s toilets and showers nearby, but no facilities at the rock pool itself

Lake Curalo Boardwalk – cruisy, flat and super pretty (dog-friendly too)

Sprout Eden Café – good coffee and you can sit out the front with your pup

Snug Cove – nice spot for a sunset stroll and pelican spotting

This spot felt like a little reward after a long drive. If you’re heading south with your doggo and want something a little different than the usual beach stop, Aslings Rock Pool is worth adding to the list.
